Nationally ranked Gaels propel past Ridgebacks after even first quarter

The Ontario Tech men's basketball team welcomed the No. 4 ranked Queen's Gaels to Oshawa for a rare Tuesday afternoon matchup. The Gaels defeated the Ridgebacks 84-53.

After a close first quarter in which Ontario Tech found themselves down by only three, the Gaels pulled away in the remaining 30 minutes. They outscored the Ridgebacks 65-37.

Queen's Cameron Bett finished as the game's top score with 21 points. Jaden Coke (Ajax, Ont.) led the Ridgebacks in scoring, finishing with 19 points.

The Ridgebacks next game will be on Friday, Jan 13 against the Carleton Ravens in Ottawa. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
