TORONTO, Ont. – A regulation 2-1 loss to the Rams on Saturday afternoon by the Ontario Tech women's hockey team has made it official, the Ridgebacks will host Round 1 of the OUA playoffs on Wednesday in Oshawa.
Puck drop on Wednesday, March 9 will be 7 p.m. at the Campus Ice Centre against the York Lions or Queen's Gaels.
In the final game of conference play, the Rams' Savannah Bouzide opened the scoring with just under two minutes to go in the second period.
On the power play in the third period,
Lauren Beaulieu (Caistorville, Ont.) scored her first OUA goal to tie the game with 13:50 to go in regulation.
Unfortunately for the Ridgebacks, Erika Crouse scored the game-winning goal two minutes later to put the Rams ahead of Ontario Tech in the OUA standings heading into the playoffs.
Brooke Vial (Port Moody, Ont.) made 35 saves in the Ridgebacks loss, while Rachel Seeley made 22 in the Rams win.
