OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team secured a 1-0 win in their first game of the season against the Rams.
Before the game, the Ridgebacks celebrated nine graduating seniors:
Mia Rogers (Keswick, Ont.), Kate Heath (Elora, Ont.),
Jamie Bulleid (Waterdown, Ont.),
Blaire Allison (Pickering, Ont),
Marissa Murphy (Odessa, Ont.),
Kassidy Ford (Gananoque, Ont.),
Megan Johnston (Goderich, Ont.),
Natalie Wozney (Whitby, Ont.) and Jill Banks (Barrie, Ont.).
Nicole Escano (Kingston, Ont.) grabbed the opening and eventual game-winning goal in the first period.
In the second, the Rams made some solid attempts at making it a tie game, but goalie
Zoe McGee (Kanata, Ont.) wasn't letting anything past her.
The Ridgebacks ended the second the same way they ended the first, with a one-goal lead.
In net, McGee grabbed her second OUA shutout, saving 37 Rams shots.
