The Ontario Tech women's hockey team fell 2-1 to the Toronto Varsity Blues on Thursday night, with special teams being the difference.
Toronto scored both goals in the first period on the power play, with the answer from Ontario Tech not coming until the final minute of the second period when a shot by
Brooklyn Duff (Smithville, Ont.) found its way past Varsity Blues goaltender Erica Fryer.
In goal,
Zoe McGee (Kanata, Ont.) made 22 saves in the loss for the Ridgebacks.
They now travel to St. Catharines on Saturday for a rematch against the Brock Badgers. Puck drop is 2 p.m.
