Golden Hawks pull away after tight first quarter to top Ridgebacks

The Ontario Tech women's basketball team was on the road Saturday afternoon, taking on the Laurier Golden Hawks, with the Ridgebacks falling 81-68.

After a tight first quarter, where the Ridgebacks trailed by just three points, the Golden Hawks pulled away and maintained the lead for the rest of the game. Laurier's Cassidy Hirtle finished as the game's top scorer with 28 points and five three-pointers. 

Hadeza Ismaila (Ottawa, Ont.) had a strong game as she finished with 22 points and nine rebounds. Dalyssa Fleurgin finished Saturday's loss with 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Ridgebacks' next game will be on Friday, Dec. 2 at home against the Toronto Varsity Blues. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
