The Ontario Tech men's hockey team secured a 3-2 win Friday night in North Bay against the Nipissing Lakers.

Opening the first period was
Evan White (St. John's, N.L.) scoring the only goal in the first period.

In the second, Liam Hurley (Cambridge, Ont.) grabbed his first goal of the season giving the Ridgebacks a two-goal lead going into the third.

Early in the third period Nipissing's Charles Farmer and Parker Brown both scored to tie up the game.

The Ridgebacks were unable to take their lead back causing the game to go into overtime.
Â
Not long into the overtime, Andrew Surityth (Kingston, Ont.) grabbed the game-winning goal for the Ridgebacks.

In net, making his eighth start of the season,
Leif Hertz (Kingston, Ont.) ended the night with 26 saves.

The Ridgebacks take on the Lakers again tomorrow night in North Bay at 5 p.m.
