Tardif scores twice as Ridgebacks complete four-point weekend

The Ontario Tech men's hockey team defeated the Ottawa Gee-Gees 4-1 on Saturday night in Oshawa.

After a goal-less first, Nicolas Tardif (Chelsea, Que.) opened the scoring for the Ridgebacks six minutes into the second period.

In the final 20 minutes, Ontario Tech found the back of the net three more times. James White (Peterborough, Ont.) opened the third period scoring, followed by Tardif, who scored his second of the night, and Cullen McLean (Whitby, Ont.). 

Ryley Lanthier (Surrey B.C.) picked up two assists, and James White added an assist in Saturday's win. Ridgebacks goalie William Desmarais (Sherbrooke, Que.) finished the game with 26 saves for back-to-back wins.

Their next game will be on Friday, Nov. 18 in North Bay against the Nipissing Lakers. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
