After a tough overtime loss against the McGill Redbirds on Saturday, the Ontario Tech men's hockey team bounced back with a 5-4 win on Sunday afternoon against the Concordia Stingers.
Â
After falling behind 1-0 in the first period,
James White (Peterborough, Ont.) got the Ridgebacks on the board and evened the game at one. Stingers would score less than a minute later at the 18:03 mark and take a 2-1 lead into the intermission.
Â
The Ridgeback offence came alive in the second period. They outscored the Stingers 3-0, with two coming on the power play, to take a 4-2 lead. The goals came courtesy of
Stephen Calisti (Etobicoke, Ont.),
Noah McMullin (Beaver Bank, N.S.) and White, who put in his second of the game.
Â
Concordia would score twice in the final 20 minutes, but
Drew Toner's (Grand Falls, N.B.) third-period tally would put the game out of reach for the Stingers.
Â
Ridgebacks goalie
Leif Hertz (Kingston, Ont.) finished Sunday's home win with 33 saves.Â
Â
Ontario Tech's next game is on Wednesday, Oct. 26, against the RMC Paladins in Kingston. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
