In the second half of a home-and-home against the Carleton Ravens, a battle of two nationally ranked programs, the Ontario Tech men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 win on Saturday.
The No. 7 ranked Ridgebacks opened the scoring in the third minute with
Trivine Esprit (Scarborough, Ont.) cleaning up a rebound from
Christopher Campoli's (Woodbridge, Ont.) shot from the side of the box.Â
Carleton, ranked No. 6 in the country, evened the match in the 31st minute, where the match stood going into halftime.Â
Going down a man after a 72nd minute red card to
Luciano Nania, the Ridgebacks played a more reserved end to the match, which setup the theatrics for
Carlos Edic's (Toronto, Ont.) game-winning goal, finishing on a pass from Campoli who was 1-vs-4 in the box against the Ravens.Â
Â
Kevon Grant (Oshawa, Ont) made three saves in Saturday's afternoon win.Â
Ontario Tech now wraps up the home portion of their OUA season on Sunday against the RMC Paladins. Kick-off is 3:15 p.m.Â
