NORTH YORK, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's soccer team were unable to match the York Lions on Thursday night as York swept the home-and-away series with a 4-1 victory.
Sarah Foster (Oshawa, Ont.) scored the lone goal for the Ridgebacks in the 86th minute, keeping Ontario Tech from being shutout in the match.
Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) made eight saves in the match for Ontario Tech, while Patricia Vrysellas didn't make any saves for the Lions in goal.
Maia Torelli opened the scoring in the match in the 13th minute, followed by a 21st minute goal by Vansess Salvaggio to put York ahead 2-0 heading into half.
Torelli scored her second of the match in the 48th minute, with Kalifornia Mitchell rounding out the scoring in the 61st.
The Ridgebacks return home this weekend to host the No. 3 ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees. Kick-off at Vaso's Field is schedule for 1 p.m.
