SUDBURY, Ont. – Helena Lamoureux's 22 points and seven rebounds led the way for the Laurentian Voyageurs as they defeated the Ontario Tech women's basketball team 68-56 on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Voyageurs got off to a strong start, leading by 12 after the first quarter, but the Ridgebacks did manage to stay in the game up until the final minutes of the fourth. The Ridgebacks cut an 11-point fourth quarter deficit to 5 with 2:33 to go, but that's as close as they would come.
 
Laurentian's Arielle Douillette was the game's top scorer with 23 points. Aprille Whyne (Montreal, Que.) had a strong performance for the Ridgebacks, finishing as their top scorer with 17 points in 19 minutes off the bench.
 
The Ridgebacks return home on Nov. 12 to face the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
