OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey team grabbed a massive win at their home opener Friday night against the Nipissing Lakers, winning 6-1.
The two teams will meet again Sunday afternoon at the Campus Ice Centre at 3 p.m.
Nipissing grabbed the first goal in the first period, but the Ridgebacks wasted no time coming out hot in the second period.
Austin Eastman (Lindsay, Ont.) tied the game with the first goal for the Ridgebacks.
Cameron Hough (Uxbridge, Ont.) followed up with the second goal giving the Ridgebacks the lead. Less than five mins later,
Evan White (St. John's N.L.) got the third goal for the Ridgebacks.
To wrap up the third period,
Tyson McConnell (Pilot Mound, Man.) made the score 4-1.
White came back for more in the third period and grabbed another one for the Ridgebacks, followed by
James White (Peterborough, Ont.) with the game's final goal, making it six for the Ridgebacks.

Michael Bullion (Anchorage, Alaska) had 21 saves on the game, picking up his 17th win at Ontario Tech, while Francis Asselin made 28 in the loss for Nipissing.
