OSHAWA, Ont. – It was a scrappy win, scoring only six points in the fourth quarter, but the Ontario Tech women's basketball team held on for 60-56 win to open the 2021 OUA season at home.
Bilan Khadar (Ottawa, Ont.) led the Ridgebacks with 13 points, while also pulling in seven boards with two steals.
In her Ridgeback and OUA debut in her second year with the team,
Sara Esongola Biango (Montreal, Que.) finished with nine. Ontario Tech women's basketball team MVP
Dalyssa Fleurgin (Montreal, Que.) also finished with nine points.
The night also marked the first OUA victory for head coach
Megan Grant.
Emilie Lafond finished with a game-high 15 points, finishing one board short of a double-double with nine.
The two teams will do it all again Sunday night, but in Sudbury.
