OSHAWA, Ont. – In what was a much more competitive contest then Wednesday night's game, the Ryerson Rams defeated the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks women's basketball team 61-49 on Saturday night.
The Ridgebacks defence showed up ready to play at the CRWC, holding the Rams to just 11 points in the opening quarter, but Ontario Tech only managed to score 15 first half points.
The Rams were led by Kaillie Hall who finished as the games' top scorer with 18 points on an efficient 87.5 per cent shooting night. Eleanor Jones, who hails all the way from Ayr, Scotland, also had a strong game for the Rams, finishing with 11 points.
Dalyssa Fleurgin (Montreal, Que.) was the Ridgebacks' top performer, finishing with 15 points and five boards.
Hadeza Ismaila (Ottawa, Ont.) also had a strong game, finishing with 13 points and hitting 9 free throws.
Saturday's action was the Ridgebacks final game of the first half of the OUA season. They'll kick off the second half of the regular season on Jan. 19 against the Toronto Varsity Blues.
