OTTAWA, Ont. – After a hard fought first half, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's basketball team dropped the first game of a back-to-back against the No. 1 ranked Carleton Ravens 95-72.
Khaleek Bakare-Whyte (Toronto, Ont.) led a red-hot Ridgebacks offence in the first half and led all Ontario Tech scorers with 25 points on the night.
Anthony Pate (Oakville, Ont.), a former Carleton recruit also came to play against his former school, nailing back-to-back threes in the first on his way to a 17-point performance.
Although the Ridgebacks trailed 42-40 at half, foul trouble on
Graddy Kanku (Ottawa, Ont.), Levi Ogbanna (Toronto, Ont.) and
D'on Duncan (Calgary, Alta.) throughout the second half led to an extended run from the Ravens late in the third quarter, which secured the Ravens the win.
The Ridgebacks will face Carlton again tomorrow at 5 p.m. in their final road game before winter break.
