OSHAWA, Ont. – In a much more competitive contest than Friday's matchup, the Ontario Tech women's basketball team fell 81-52 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday afternoon.
For the first three quarters the Ridgebacks remained within reach against the No. 6 ranked Gee-Gees. They would come within 10 points of the Gee-Gees at the start of the third quarter, but that's the closest the game would end up being in the second half.
The star of the show for the Gee-Gees was Brigitte Lefebvre-Okankwu who could not be contained. She finished with 32 points and 14 rebounds. Natsuki Szczokin also had a strong performance for the Gee-Gees, finishing with 24 points and hitting all four of her threes.
Dalyssa Fleurgin (Montreal, Que.) led the Ridgebacks in scoring as she finished with 12 points in 24 minutes.
The Ridgebacks will travel to Ottawa for their next game on Nov. 19 to take on the Carleton Ravens. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
