OSHAWA, Ont. – After starting the first quarter with a 15-0 run, the Ottawa Gee-Gees would never look back as they defeated the Ontario Tech men's basketball team 94-50 on Saturday night.
In the second of a two-game weekend series, the nationally ranked Gee-Gees were dominant on the defensive end. The Ridgebacks were held to just 19 first half points and shot 34.6 per cent from the field.
Maxime Boursiquot led the way for the Gee-Gees with 15 points, six rebounds and four steals. Cole Newton also had a strong game, finishing with 14 points and hitting four threes.
Patrick-Olivier Mpoyi (Ottawa, Ont.) was the Ridgebacks' top scorer. He finished with 10 points in 23 minutes off the bench.
The Ridgebacks will travel to Ottawa for their next game against the Carleton Ravens on Nov. 19. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
