OSHAWA, Ont. – With 9.2 seconds on the clock and possession, Ontario Tech's shot at their first win of 2021 came up short as they fell 68-67 to the Nipissing Lakers in preseason women's basketball action.
Vanessa Budimunda (Montreal, Que.) was just a point off a double-double, finishing with nine points and 11 boards for Ontario Tech.
Dalyssa Fleurgin (Montreal, Que.) and
Lindsay Cleophat (Repentigny, Que.) led the Ridgebacks scoring with 10 points apiece.
Angeline Campbell had a game-high 15 points for the Lakers in the win, while Megan McCarter and Nicole Budd also finish in double-digit scoring with 12 and 10 points respectively.
This wrapped up the three-game preseason schedule for the Ridgebacks, with their focus now turning to Friday, Nov. 5 when they open their second OUA season at home against the Laurentian Voyageurs.
