OSHAWA, Ont. – Despite another strong showing from their first-year players, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's hockey team fell 3-2 to the Carleton Ravens in preseason play.
 
James White (Peterborough, Ont.) opened the scoring just three minutes into the first to put the pack on the board, but the Ridgebacks fell behind 3-1 early until Austin Eastman (Lindsay, Ont.) scored midway through the second period.
 
The Ridgebacks dominated shots on net in the third period 16-7 but could not find the tying goal.
 
Michael Bullion (Anchorage, Alaska) was in the net for the Ridgebacks and made 21 saves.
 
Ontario Tech will have one final exhibition game against the Toronto Varsity Blues on Oct. 30 before their home opener against the Nipissing Lakers on Nov. 5 at the Campus Ice Centre.
