KINGSTON, Ont. – Brooklyn Bastarache's overtime goal helped the Queen's Gaels to a 3-2 win over the Ontario Tech women's hockey team on Saturday night.
Natalie Wozney (Whitby, Ont.) opened the scoring 5:02 into the game, with assists to
Mia Rogers (Keswick, Ont.) and
Kassidy Ford (Gananoque, Ont.).
Queen's Gaels Scout Watkins Southward and Quinn Johnston scored the next two goals to go ahead 2-1 heading into the third period. Rogers scored her first of the preseason 3:15 into the third, setting the scene for the overtime winner for the Gaels.
Brooke Vial (Port Moody, B.C.) made 45 saves in the Ridgeback loss.
Both teams meet again on Friday night at the Campus Ice Centre, followed by Ontario Tech travelling to Brock for their final preseason game on Oct. 30 against the Badgers.
