WATERLOO, Ont. – Adrian Nabuurs goal 1:42 into overtime gave the Laurier Golden Hawks a 3-2 victory over the Ontario Tech men's hockey team Saturday night.
Nabuurs opened the scoring 9:50 into the first period, with
Evan White (St. John's, N.L.) evening the game 15:58 into the period on the power play.
JC Thivierge (Welland, Ont.) put the Ridgebacks ahead 9:43 into the second, a lead that stood until late in regulation. Steven MacLean knotted things up with 6:02 to go in the game.
Both teams split time in goal, with
Leif Hertz (Kingston, Ont.) and
Michael Bullion (Anchorage, Alaska) combining for 31 saves for Ontario Tech. Christian Propp and Matt Williams made 25 saves in Laurier's win.
The Ridgebacks will continue their preseason against the Guelph Gryphons on the road Thursday night.
