TORONTO, Ont. – In their second exhibition game in three nights, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's hockey program was unable to match the offensive output of the Toronto Varsity Blues as they fell 5-1.
Ontario Tech and Toronto were tied 1-1 after the opening period, but a three-goal second by the Varsity Blues was the difference in the game.
Next Saturday afternoon the Ridgebacks will continue their four-game preseason schedule against the Ryerson Rams in Toronto. They wrap up exhibition action against the Varsity Blues on Friday, Sept. 27 at home.
• The lone Ridgebacks goal came from
JC Thivierge (Welland, Ont.), which tied the game 1-1 at the 16:42 mark of the first period.
• Toronto's Hunter Fargey scored a hat trick to lead their offence.
• Scott Kirton and David Thomson scored a goal each to round out the Varsity Blues scoring.

Leif Hertz (Kingston, Ont.) made 32 saves in the loss for Ontario Tech.
• Earning the win, Toronto's Alex Bishop made 16 stops.
