GUELPH, Ont. – If you blinked, you may have missed the UOIT women's soccer preseason.
The Ridgebacks exhibition schedule consisted of two games in two days that ended on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Guelph. The team now looks ahead to their OUA conference opener next Friday night against Ottawa.
Saturday's match in Guelph was a good test for the Ridgebacks as both teams looked to be in mid-season form. For the second straight game,
Cassandra Sribny (Pickering, Ont.) found the back of the net for UOIT while
Katherine Koehler-Grassau (Greely, Ont.) netted the game winner.
Helen Frampton (Toronto, Ont.) and
Victoria Savage (Woodbridge, Ont.) each saw time in goal for UOIT.
UOIT wraps up preseason action with a 2-0 record after beating Brock 1-0 on Friday afternoon.
The Ridgebacks begin conference play on Friday, Aug. 26 at home against the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Ottawa finished atop of the OUA eastern conference standings with a 13-0-3 record and ended up winning a bronze medal at the OUA championship.
