OSHAWA, Ont. - The UOIT men's soccer team could have easily walked away with six points this weekend. Unfortunately for the Ridgebacks, two goals against in the late stages of both of their games cost them four valuable points.
On Saturday, Nipissing's Ryan Roy scored in the 90th minute to tie the Ridgebacks 2-2. On Sunday, it was Laurentian's turn to play spoiler as the Voyageurs were awarded a penalty kick in injury time. Matthew Wilkes would make no mistake as he beat UOIT goalkeeper

UOIT took a 1-0 lead in the first half when
Erik Petrovic (Sombor, Serbia) scored his second goal of the season. The Ridgebacks lone graduating senior
Alexander Cuccovillo (Ajax, Ont.) recorded an assist on the play.
Miller made five saves for the Ridgebacks while Connor Vande Weghe had four stops for Laurentian.
UOIT (3-7-3) remains three points ahead of the Trent Excalibur (2-8-3) for the sixth and final playoff spot in the OUA eastern conference. The two teams will meet in their regular season finale on Oct. 22.
The Ridgebacks next game will take place on Friday, Oct. 14 against the Queen's Gaels (5-4-3). Game time in Kingston is 7:15 p.m.
