TORONTO, Ont. - One year ago, Ryerson put an end to the Ridgebacks 13-game unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win. With the Ridgebacks on the right end of another 1-0 scoreline on Wednesday night, the team is hoping that this result will be the start of a win streak in 2015.
The Ridgebacks prevailed in the defensive struggle where the teams combined for just four shots on target.
A goal by Mississauga native
Shynice Williams in the 67
th minute proved to be the difference as UOIT picked up their third win in five conference games. It was Williams fourth goal of the season and her first since the season opener where she notched a hat-trick.
Freshman goalkeeper
Helen Frampton (Toronto, Ont.) stopped both shots she faced including a stretched out save on Val Muniz Saavedra who found herself left alone in the box. All three of UOIT's wins have been shutouts.
