OSHAWA, Ont. – Since Durham College won the first women's soccer Campus Cup the UOIT Ridgebacks have retained the title.
 
This year, the Ridgebacks were dominant as they picked up a 5-0 victory over their campus rivals.
 
Shynice Williams led the Ridgebacks with a pair of goals in the match, while Cassandra Sribny, Sara Voisin and Tyra Gordon all scored a goal apiece.
 
"We know this game means a lot to our students on campus each year and it's a great way to kick-off our 2015-16 season," said Scott Barker, manager of intercollegiate athletics at UOIT. "The excitement around the field was outstanding. Both teams played a great game, but I was happy to see our Ridgebacks hoist the cup at the end of the match."
 
In goal, UOIT keepers Helen Frampton and Victoria Savage split time to share the clean sheet.
 
The Ridgebacks will now head to our nation's capital for a pair of games this weekend against the Carleton Ravens and Ottawa Gee-Gees.
