Ridgebacks shutout by Western

OUA Women's Soccer: Western defeated UOIT 3-0

LONDON, Ont. – The UOIT Ridgebacks women's soccer team opened up their southwestern Ontario weekend road trip with a 3-0 loss to the Western Mustangs.

Western is undefeated this season, as sophomore goalkeeper Tori Edgar has earned shutouts in all three Mustang games. On the other hand, UOIT has failed to score in all three of their games, as they fall to 0-2-1 on the year.

The Mustangs offence was spread out throughout the line-up with three different players scoring goals. Becca Jefferson opened up scoring ten minutes into the game, while Adrianna Giuffre extended the Mustang lead at the 37 minute mark. Paige Howard put the game out of reach with five minutes remaining in the game as she scored her second goal of the season.

UOIT has another tough challenge ahead of them as they square off against the Windsor Lancers (2-1-0) on Sunday afternoon. Windsor is coming off a victory over the nationally ranked Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday.
