OSHAWA, Ont. – Taylor Landry (Whitby, Ont.) and Melissa Linton (Cobourg, Ont.) have been named the UOIT student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Nov. 2.
Landry, a criminology and justice Studies major, was named the offensive MVP of the OUA women’s field lacrosse championship hosted by UOIT over the weekend. Landry scored 12 goals in three games, helping the Ridgebacks make the bronze medal game on Sunday against the Toronto Varsity Blues. Although UOIT lost the game 9-5, the lacrosse team’s finish is significant because they became the second team to make it to the OUA final four in school history.
