OSHAWA, Ont. – Nick Mayede (Parry Sound, Ont.) of the men’s curling team and Emily Gordon (Hamilton, Ont.) of the women’s curling team have been named Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending February 16.
Mayede, an automotive engineering student, consistently outcurled the opposing lead in every game, making difficult shots that led to high-scoring ends. As skip, Nick executed a perfect strategy against some of the best skips in the province, while lifting team moral in difficult situations.
The Ontario Tech student-athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North Oshawa.
