Ismaila, a first-year political science student, was a key piece to the Ridgebacks women's basketball team earning the program's first-ever victory. Ismaila tied teammate Dalyssa Fleurgin for a team-high 18 points in the 77-70 win over the Waterloo Warriors on 7-for-12 shooting. She also pulled in eight boards, while picking up a season-high four steals.
 
The basketball programs continue their homestand with the final home games of their inaugural season on next weekend against the Nipissing Lakers and Laurentian Voyageurs. Tip-off is slated for 6 and 8 p.m. each day.
 
The Ontario Tech student-athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North Oshawa.
