OSHAWA, Ont. – Anthony Latina (Scarborough, Ont.) of the men's hockey team and Tanmay Karnavat (Brampton, Ont.) of the men's badminton team have been named UOIT student-athletes of the week for the period ending February 11.

Karnavat, a second-year electrical engineering major, showed excellent tactics in every match at the IUCC K-W this week as he extended many matches to the three-game limit. What was most notable about his performance was that by Sunday afternoon he was visibly exhausted due to the many matches played but still dug deep and played inspired singles play and excellent tactical shots in every match. He reached the B Flight final of men's singles.

The UOIT student-athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
