OSHAWA, Ont. – Chelsea Ball (Maple, Ont.) of the women’s hockey team and Josh Carrick (Stouffville, Ont.) of the men’s hockey team have been named UOIT student-athletes of the week for the period ending February 4.
Ball, a fourth-year forensic science, scored the lone-goal in a 1-0 win on Friday night to give the Ridgebacks their first regular season sweep of the Waterloo Warriors in program history. On Saturday, in the team’s final home game, she scored the fourth and final goal in a 4-0 shutout of the Laurier Golden Hawks.
The UOIT student-athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
