Elser, a criminology and justice studies major, scored three goals in the men’s hockey team’s opening weekend, as the Ridgebacks got off to their first 2-0 start in program history. In the Ridgebacks season debut in Ottawa, the sophomore centre scored a pair of goals including the game winner. The following night in Montreal, Elser scored the Ridgebacks fourth goal in their 5-2 victory over McGill. This was UOIT’s first win over the Redmen on the road in program history. Teammate Ben Blasko (Kingston, Ont.) had assists on all three of Elser’s goals.
