Scott started working at Ontario Tech University in 2007. His first role on campus was as the sports information and marketing coordinator and he transitioned into the manager of intercollegiate athletics in 2018. Prior to working on campus, he spent three years with the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) central office in the sports services coordinator and marketing and communications coordinator roles.

Other volunteer roles include his involvement with the OUA marketing and communications committee, executive committee member for the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) - VP of marketing from 2015-2017, and executive committee member for the OCAA - VP of marketing from 2010-2015. He is also currently a board member for the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame and Baseball Oshawa the host of the Sports Report on Rogers TV Durham.
