At the age of 15, Dr. Tessa Lam was first introduced to field lacrosse at Donald A. Wilson Secondary School and had the pleasure to be coached by Barb Boyes as the goalie for the varsity girl’s lacrosse team.
During her three years at UOIT, Tessa was the goalie for the Women’s Lacrosse team. She was awarded UOIT’s Lacrosse Freshman Athlete of the Year 2011-2012, and Lacrosse MVP 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.
In 2023, Tessa was appointed as the Executive Director for Lady Blue Knights Lacrosse Association following Barb Boyes’ tenureship of 24 years. Tessa has been on the LBK Board of Directors since 2017. Previously, as a Director-At-Large with a focus on building LBK’s social media presence and elected as the Chair in 2019. Tessa has been an ongoing LBK member as a player and coach since she was 16 years old.
Professionally, Tessa is a licensed chiropractor who practices in Brooklin where she grew up. In June 2018, Tessa became the first person to graduate from the UOIT and Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) bridge program which allowed her to complete a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) in Kinesiology and Doctor of Chiropractic in seven years, instead of eight.
