Campbell joined the Ridgebacks in preparation for the 2016-17 season with a number of years of experience under his belt. 

For 15 years he was an assistant coach and trainer with various teams in the Ajax/Pickering Raiders AAA organization, four years with the Pickering Panthers (OJHL), nine years with the Whitby Fury (OJHL) and four seasons as trainer with the Ontario U-17 selection camp.
