Deluxshan Pathmanathan

Deluxshan Pathmanathan officially assumed this position in March 2023 after serving as interim head coach during the 2022-2023 season.

Under Pathmanathan's leadership, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks men's basketball team achieved significant milestones:

2023-2024 Season: The team posted a 16-6 record in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA), after going 1-14 two seasons prior, earning a spot in the U SPORTS national Top 10 rankings for the first time in program history. The Ridgebacks continued their many milestones this year as they made the playoffs for the first time in program history.

2024-2025 Season: The Ridgebacks continued their competitive performance by reaching the OUA semifinals with 2 major playoff wins on the road. The team peaked at the right time and created another memorable season in the OUA. The Ridgebacks were ranked as high as fourth in the country and first in Ontario.

Pathmanathan has also worked with the provincial and national programs in Canada. He also had the opportunity to lead Sri Lanka to its first U18 Youth Olympic win against Egypt in 2018.

Pathmanathan resides in Oshawa with his wife, Nicky, and their two children, Kobe and Alaiya. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University and a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education from Brock University. He is a current Master's of Education student at Ontario Tech. Additionally, he is an NCCP Level 3 certified coach
