OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team closed out its home regular season schedule with a 2–1 loss to the Windsor Lancers on Saturday, January 31, at the Campus Ice Centre.
Prior to puck drop, the Ridgebacks recognized their graduating seniors: Julia Jackson, Zoe McGee, Melisa Ardanaz, Julianne Davidson, and Harrie Jones, celebrating their contributions to the program over their Ontario Tech careers.
Ontario Tech opened the scoring late in the first period, as Harrie Jones capitalized on a setup from Julia Jackson and Emily Harrison to give the Ridgebacks a 1–0 lead heading into the first intermission.
Windsor answered in the second period to even the score before finding the eventual game-winner midway through the third. The Ridgebacks pressed for the equalizer late, but were unable to solve the Lancers again.
Between the pipes, Zoe McGee delivered a strong performance, stopping 35 shots and keeping Ontario Tech within reach throughout the afternoon.
Ontario Tech will now head on the road for its next contest, visiting the Ottawa Gee-Gees women's hockey on Friday, February 6 at 7 p.m.
