OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks women's hockey team continued its strong run on Saturday, January 24, skating to a 4–1 win over the York Lions to secure its fourth consecutive victory.
Ontario Tech set the tone early, scoring three times in the opening period to take control of the contest.
Emily Harrison opened the scoring just 22 seconds into the game, with
Julia Jackson and
Harrie Jones picking up the assists. After York briefly pulled even, Jones restored the lead before
Milana Perri capped the first-period surge to give the Ridgebacks a 3–1 advantage.
The Ridgebacks added to the lead late in the second period when Jones struck again, finishing the night with two goals and an assist. Harrison also had a standout performance, recording a goal and two assists in the win.
Between the pipes,
Zoe McGee was solid, turning aside 32 shots to earn the victory as Ontario Tech held off a push from York over the final forty minutes.
With the result, the Ridgebacks extended their winning streak to four games and will look to keep the momentum rolling when they return to action on the road against the Queen's Gaels on Friday, January 30.
