OSHAWA, Ont. — The Ontario Tech men's hockey team used a strong third period to pull away from the Concordia Stingers on Sunday, earning a 6–3 win at the Campus Ice Centre to close out their home schedule for the semester.
The Ridgebacks set the tone early when
Alex Papaspyropoulos scored just over a minute into the game, followed by
Justin Svenson adding another late in the first. Concordia responded with two of their own to send the teams into intermission tied 2–2.
Ontario Tech regained the lead midway through the second period on a power-play marker from
Ishan Mittoo, who finished the afternoon with a three-point performance.
In the third,
Ludovic Dufort restored a two-goal cushion before the Stingers cut the deficit on the man advantage.
Gabriel Bernier answered immediately for the Ridgebacks, and
Kyle Leonard added insurance in the final minutes to secure the win.
Beckett Langkow stopped 17 shots in the victory.
Ontario Tech finishes the semester on the road next weekend, beginning with a trip to Ottawa to face the Gee-Gees on Friday, November 28 at 7 p.m.
