OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey team shut the door defensively and skated to a 2-0 win over the York Lions on Thursday at Campus Ice Centre.
Goaltender William Desmarais backstopped the Ridgebacks with a 33-save shutout, while Gabriel Bernier and Braiden Koran provided the offence. Bernier opened the scoring at 14:25 of the second period, finishing a feed from Justin Svenson for his 10th goal of the season. Koran sealed the win late in the third, converting on another Svenson setup at 16:38.
Ontario Tech fired 41 shots at York goaltender Carter Serhyenko, who kept the Lions in the game with 39 saves.
The Ridgebacks will be back at the Campus Ice Centre on Saturday, February 1 at when they take on the Concordia Stingers at 5 p.m.
