PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's soccer program found themselves back in the win column after taking down the Trent Excalibur 5-2 on Friday night.

The game was tightly contested throughout the first half, with both teams tied after 45 minutes, but just after the break, Kairo Coore (Whitby, Ont.) stepped up to the spot for a penalty kick and picked up his first goal of the game.

Nine minutes later, Alex Maadanian (Markham, Ont.) picked up the ball just outside the box and unleashed a rocket for the Ridgebacks' second goal of the game.

As the game waned into its final 20 minutes, Trent battled back with two straight goals from Warren Chambers. The Ridgebacks loaded up on attack to find a response, and Adam Klimek (Oshawa, Ont.) delivered in the 89th minute. Coore would strike again a beautifully placed shot after dropping a defender in the 90th minute. Finally, Maadanian would be taken down inside the box, and Coore would complete the hat trick with his second penalty of the game.

The Ridgebacks will be back in action against the Trent Excalibur on Sunday, September 29, at 3:15 p.m. at Vaso's Field.
