Box Score OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks showed resilience, fighting back from a two-goal deficit to secure a 2-2 draw against the Toronto Metropolitan Bold on Wednesday night at Downsview Park.
The Ridgebacks, now 5-3-2 on the season, faced an uphill battle after conceding two first-half goals. Toronto Metropolitan struck first with Chris Campoli finding the back of the net in the 28th minute, followed by a second goal from Jevontae Layne just before halftime at the 45-minute mark, assisted by Justin Santos.
Despite the early setback, Ontario Tech regrouped in the second half, gradually applying pressure on TMU's defense. Their persistence paid off in the 80th minute when Alexander Irwin (London, Ont.) sparked the comeback with a well-placed goal. Just seven minutes later, Erion Metaj (Whitby. Ont.) added the equalizer, completing the comeback for the Ridgebacks.
Ontario Tech managed eight shots throughout the match, with five on target, while goalkeeper Kevon Grant (Oshawa, Ont.) made two saves on four shots faced.Â
The Ridgebacks will finish up their regular season this weekend when they take on the Carleton Ravens on October 12, and the RMC Paladins on October 13.
