Ottawa, ONT. – The Ridgebacks men's hockey team went toe-to-toe with the Ottawa Gee-Gee's on Sunday afternoon, but fell late in a shoot out after an outstanding performance from
William Desmarais (Sherbrooke, Que.).
The Ridgebacks and Gee-Gees were evenly matched throughout the game, with each team's goalie keeping the sheet clean with several key saves. Desmarais stopped all 32 shots he faced in regulation and overtime, and Ottawa's goaliee, Franky Lapenna, stopped 26 shots.Â
In the shoot out, Ottawa was able to convert on both chances and secure the extra point.
