The Ontario Tech women's soccer team has won their tenth straight Campus Cup with a 3-0 win over the Durham Lords on Tuesday night.
Â
The score was tied heading into the second half, however a goal from
Aliya Sweeney (Oshawa, Ont.) in the 37th minute opened the scoring for the Ridgebacks. Two more jaw dropping Ontario Tech goals would follow by
Shyanne Pierog-Taylor (Cobourg, Ont.) in the 45th minute, and from
Sophia Campanella (Brampton, Ont.) in the final minutes of the game.
Â
The victory means the Ridgebacks have won every Campus Cup since Durham won the inaugural match in 2012.
Â
On the men's side of things, the Ridgebacks were defeated for the first time since 2015, losing 1-0 after a dramatic series of penalties.
Â
Ontario Tech continues OUA play on Saturday at Vaso's Field where they will face the Laurentian Voyageurs.
