OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey program secured a four point weekend to end their calendar year with a dramatic 3-2 shoot out win over the visiting Nipissing Lakers.
Sean Ross (Bracebridge, Ont.) started the offense early for the Ridgebacks midway through the first period, and Nipissing would find an equalizer from Charlie Farmer late in the second.
Jeremy Michaud (Victoriaville, Que.) picked up the second goal for the Ridgebacks off an assist from
Alex Drover, but it was a last minute goal from Cole Stewart that sent the game to overtime, and eventually a shoot out where
James White (Peterborough, Ont.) and
Cullen McLean (Whitby, Ont.) both scored to secure the victory.
The Ridgebacks will now enjoy an extended break from OUA action for the midseason winter break, but will return to face the Carleton Ravens on January 5.
