Ridgebacks open 2023 with loss to first place Marauders

In their first meeting of the season, the Ontario Tech women's basketball team fell 91-48 to the McMaster Marauders on Friday night.
 
Hadeza Ismaila (Ottawa, Ont.) led the Ridgebacks with 10 points on the night. She also had a team-high two steals and finished with five boards.
 
Katherine Onunkwo (Ajax, Ont.) had a team-high six boards for Ontario Tech.
 
For the Marauders, Jenna button and Cassie Joli-Coeur paced their offence with 16 points apiece.
 
Up next, the Ridgebacks return home to host the Brock Badgers on Saturday night at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
