Ridgebacks lacrosse show improvement in loss to Excalibur

The Ontario Tech women's lacrosse team traveled to Peterborough on Sunday to take on the Trent Excalibur. After a tight first half, the Excalibur would pull away and defeat the Ridgebacks 15-9.

The Ridgebacks found themselves trailing 6-4 after a tight first half, but Trent would pull away in the final two quarters, as they outscored Ontario Tech 9-5.

Ridgebacks midfielder Caitlyn Cote (Oshawa, Ont.) had an impressive outing, as she finished with a game-high five goals while also recording an assist. Other goal scorers for the Ridgebacks include Hannah Bragg (Oshawa, Ont.), Ayden Briggs (Oshawa, Ont.), Rachel Kucera (Oshawa, Ont.) and Kendra Orr (Brooklin, Ont.).

The Ridgebacks were scheduled to take on the Toronto Varsity Blues on Sunday afternoon, but the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Ontario Tech will travel to Kingston next Sunday, taking on the McMaster Marauders and the Laurier Golden Hawks. The first game starts at 1:45 pm, with the second following at 5:15 pm.
