Excalibur ruin Ridgebacks home opener

The Ontario Tech women's soccer team looked to complete the weekend sweep of the Trent Excalibur and pick up three points in their home opener on Sunday, but ultimately fell 2-1.
 
The Ridgebacks opened the scoring, with Tara Sisic (Toronto, Ont.) capitalizing off a goalkeeper mistake to bring the Ridgebacks up 1-0 in the seventh minute.
 
Trent broke through in the 30th minute to tie the game up, where the scored remained going into the half.
 
The Ridgebacks would go into the second half looking to take the lead, but could not find the goal. Trent scored the go-ahead goal in the 48th minute, with Natalie Coscarella scoring the game-winning goal.
 
Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) made five saves on the day.
 
They are next in action against the TMU Bold on Thursday, Sept. 15 at Vaso's Field.
