The Ontario Tech women's field lacrosse team opened up the 2022 season on Saturday with a pair of tough losses to the Trent Excalibur and the Queen's Gaels at Vaso's Field.
The opening game saw defending OUA champion Trent Excalibur defeat the Ridgebacks 22-3. Kendra Orr was the lone goal scorer for the Ridgebacks as she found the back of the net three times in Saturday morning's loss.
In the second game, the Queen's Gaels defeated the Ridgebacks 20-9. Orr had another impressive outing as she added four more goals, bringing her total to seven on the day. Other goal scorers for the Ridgebacks include Ayden Briggs (Oshawa, Ont.), Victoria Solti (Bowmanville, Ont.), and Caitlyn Cote (Oshawa, Ont.), who finished with a hat trick.
The Ridgebacks will be in Peterborough next Sunday, taking on the Trent Excalibur and the Toronto Varsity Blues. The first game starts at 9 a.m, with the second following at 3:15 p.m.
